Latrena Owens

Latrena is the Executive Director of the St. Elizabeth’s East Redevelopment for the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), which assists the Mayor in the coordination, planning, supervision, and execution of economic development efforts in the District of Columbia to create and preserve affordable housing, creating jobs, and increasing tax revenue. Before working with the DMPED, Latrena served as the Chief of Staff for the District’s Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the Department of General Services (DGS). Latrena holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She serves as the secretary of the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) DC Alumni Council and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
